CLXXD: THE LORE

“When the skies opened, the world changed.”

In a realm between reality and rhythm, a sudden shift in the atmosphere occurred, an emotional storm spreading across the world. It was said to come from a tear in the sky... from a place called The CLXXD (pronounced cloud).

The CLXXD isn’t just weather; it’s a dimension where emotion shapes the climate. Each season, a new feeling takes hold. And with every shift in the sky, a new energy is born.

From this cosmic weather realm came five sentient cloud-beings, each carrying a differnt essence

ALTOS

The Cozy Drifter

Cloud Type: Altostratus / Altocumulus (mid-level cloud)

Altitude: 6,500–20,000 feet

Altos is the daydream of the skies,  fluffy, bright, and shaped like whatever your imagination needs. He drifts lazily across the middle atmosphere, soaking up sunlight and spreading cheer. A natural explorer, Altos loves gliding wherever the wind takes him, across mountain tops, over sleepy cities, or down low enough to say hi….and maybe nibble on your small pets if you’re not watching.

DRIZZLE DRIZZLE

The Playful Trickster

Cloud Type: Stratus / Nimbostratus (low-level, light rain clouds)

Altitude: Below 6,500 feet

Drizzle is that curious streak in the sky, all fun, zero patience. Mischievous by nature, they flit between raindrops, startle birds, and tap dance on rooftops when everyone’s trying to sleep. That little sprinkle you feel when the forecast says clear skies?  That’s Drizzle’s tongue hanging out again; it struggles with not slobbering like a dog.

Easily distracted by the tiniest ripples and reflections, Drizzle is said to be a reminder to embrace small moments and find joy in what others overlook.

NIMBUS

The Rebel Storm

Cloud Type: Cumulonimbus (thunderstorm cloud)

Altitude: From ground to over 60,000 feet

The one-eyed storm that lights up the sky. Nimbus is electrifying and ominous. The best part is that Nimbus is a sweetheart. As suddenly as he comes, he is gone. Spreading water and nitrogen to the land. Sure, he coughs lightning, but we assure you his Thunder is worse than his clap. As far as we know, he just goes where the storm takes him.

FOG

The Phantom

Cloud Type: Stratus cloud that forms near ground level

Altitude: 0 feet (the one that walks among us)

Fog doesn’t float; he creeps. Low, red, and cool under pressure, Fog is known to sometimes make people aware of it moving in silence and try to get them to join its cult. The church is a mess. Fog consistently asks for the collection plate. Despite his ominous presence, he’s oddly social. It's the only species we know of that loves to interact with people.

Facts: prefers sidewalks over skylines.

ATOMIC

The Flash Drop

Cloud Type: Man-made mushroom cloud (nuclear cumulonimbus)

Altitude: Variable — often over 50,000 feet

Atomic is the ghost story of the sky, a man-made storm that shouldn’t exist, born from humanity’s most dangerous ambitions, massive, blinding, and unforgettable. Not something anyone should ever see. Due to its Rarity, we doubt its existence. From the history books, we know that people fear its existence. When it shows up all we know is……
